THE FORESTERS
Just a three minute walk up the hill to this wonderful forest pub. Great beer garden, and pizza oven in the summer months.
Expect plentiful pub grub in a relaxed environment. Have been known to provide takeaways to hungry guests. Known locally as the Donkey Pub, they can often be found hanging around outside!
THE THREE LIONS
An easy 15 minute walk down the hill is this lovely pub. It has a large outdoor area, with BBQ and live music in the summer, and a lovely sunny terrace perfect to make the most of the evening rays.
Really tasty food with South African twist, good service and a warm welcome. Serving breakfasts, lunch and dinner. Excellent lunchtime OAP deal!
THE POTTING SHED
The best breakfasts, lunches and cake! Just a short walk across the common to find this real gem of a cafe. With a lovely outdoor seating area, and a farm shop/ garden centre next door, it is definitely worth a visit.
Good idea to book if you plan to visit at a busy time. They have occasional evening menus - visit their website to find out more.
THE ROYAL OAK, FRITHAM
One of our favourite pubs to cycle or walk to, you can feast on their award-winning ploughman's, and sit in the beautiful beer garden.
Serving lunch only between 12 and 3pm, they don't take bookings, and often have pizza or fish and chip vans on a Thursday and Saturday evening. Worth checking their opening times before setting off!
THE HIGH CORNER INN
Another great pub to walk or cycle to. This forest pub, with cosy interiors and traditional pub charm, has a large beer garden and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
A favourite for local riders to stop for refreshment, whether that be horse or bike! We love an early cycle ride over for breakfast - a great way to start the day!
THE ROYAL OAK, GORLEY
Around a 20 minute walk away is this picturesque, historic pub. Cosy and characterful, this former hunting lodge dates back to the 17th Century.
Excellent food, good service and guest ales and a beautiful beer garden await. They also do an excellent Sunday roast - booking essential.
